Today is a very special day - 60 years ago today, the gates opened at Disneyland for the first time and as the saying goes, we all lived happily ever after.
As a Disney geek, I can't imagine a world without the Disney parks. To have the vision, drive and chutzpah to create such a place is truly amazing.
As Walt famously said on that opening day, "To all who come to this happy place: Welcome. Disneyland is your land.
Here, age relives fond memories of the past, and here youth may savor
the challenge and promise of the future. Disneyland is dedicated to the
ideals, the dreams, and the hard facts that have created America, with
the hope that it will be a source of joy and inspiration to all the
world."
Thank you, Walt, and thank you to the many thousands responsible for the creation of Disneyland, as well as the many thousands of past and current cast members, who help to keep that Disney light shining. It IS still a source of joy and inspiration, 60 years later.
Here's to the next 60!
Have a magical day!

Snow White & Princess Faith
I've been meaning to share this video with you for a while now. Back in October 2012, my goddaughter and I went to Disney World for a few days. On October 13th, we were having breakfast at Cinderella's Royal Table. It was also my niece Faith's 1st birthday and I wanted to send her something special from Aunt Katie at Disney World.
We decided to ask each of the princesses who came around our table to record a short greeting to Faith. However, after Snow White, we decided she set the bar VERY high and so didn't end up asking any other princesses.
See if you agree - Snow White delivered like Dominos.
Of course, I cried. It was the sweetest thing.
It's the Disney Difference, folks!
As Snow White says...have a wonderful day!
